Valeura Energy has successfully completed a five-well infill drilling programme at its Jasmine field in the Gulf of Thailand, located in the B5/27 licence. Three new wells have been brought online from the Jasmine D platform, all designed as production wells.
The JSD-42 well was drilled at the crest of the primary target in the 250 sand reservoir and has been successfully completed as a producer. The well is currently producing oil at rates consistent with expectations. Additionally, the drilling process revealed five more potential production zones through secondary appraisal targets, with further oil-bearing intervals identified for possible future infill drilling.
Meanwhile, the JSD-41H and JSD-43H wells were drilled horizontally across more than 2,000 feet within the 680-1 sand reservoir. This development was aimed at more efficiently extracting oil from the already producing intervals.
As a result of these wells, oil production from the Jasmine field has increased by 26%, averaging 9,801 barrels per day. The rig that completed these wells has now moved to the Manora field on the Valeura-operated G1/48 licence to continue with additional infill drilling.
Valeura’s successful drilling campaign has not only boosted oil production at Jasmine but also set the stage for future production enhancements.
