The Aston Martin Valkyrie is in full production. The groundbreaking hypercar was first teased in concept form in 2016, and the first customers recieved their finished cars in 2021.
Just 150 units of the Valkyrie coupe are being hand-built at Aston Martin’s UK headquarters in Gaydon, taking more than 2,000 man-hours each to create. All are already sold. A further 85 Valkyrie Spiders and 40 track-only Valkyrie AMR Pros will follow, commanding a premium over the £2-3 million price tag of the standard coupe. Aston Martin has also announced that it will compete in the WEC (World Endurance Championships) series, including the Le Mans 24hr race, in 2025 with a Valkyrie LMH race car.
Alongside Cosworth and Red Bull Racing, Alcon and Surface Transforms joined the partners on the project, providing the Valkyrie with a lightweight, powerful braking system. The German technology manufacturer, Bosch supplies the hypercar’s Traction Control System, Electronic Stability Programme and Engine Control Unit.
Surface Transforms plc (LON:SCE) is a manufacturer of next-generation carbon-ceramic brake discs for automotive and aircraft applications and has been certified to IS9001-2000 since 2008 and was certified to TS16949 automotive quality accreditation and AS9100C aerospace quality accreditation in 2015.
