BiomeCord is a sustainable fibre solution

BiomeCord is a biodegradable alternative to polyamide resins, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly solution for various applications. It is specifically designed for spinning fibre and monofilaments, providing a strong and durable filament with excellent resistance to water, grease, gasoline, and oil.

This material excels in producing robust filaments that are ideal for coarser yarns, tows, and monofilaments, which are commonly used for tie threads and strimmer cords. Its strength and durability make it a versatile choice in these industries, offering reliable performance even in demanding conditions.

BiomeCord has a tensile strength of 22,000 psi and an elongation at break of 70%, highlighting its tough and flexible nature. Its key properties include good lustre and resistance to various substances, such as oil and water. Additionally, BiomeCord is biodegradable and compostable according to ASTM D6400 standards, making it a highly renewable material. It is also plasticiser-free and can be coloured using bio-masterbatch.

From a processing standpoint, BiomeCord extrudes efficiently on conventional extrusion equipment. The resin remains stable up to a melt temperature of 220°C (430°F). For optimal results, draw ratios between 3.0 and 5.0 are recommended during production.

BiomeCord stands out as a sustainable and versatile material, offering strong environmental credentials alongside robust physical properties, making it a suitable choice for various industrial applications.
