Drax has once again demonstrated its commitment to community support by raising an impressive $15,000 for MedCamps of Louisiana. This record-breaking achievement was the highest amount ever collected by the renewable energy company through this annual initiative, reinforcing its dedication to making a meaningful impact.
The funds were raised at Drax’s highly anticipated charity golf tournament, where more than 30 teams gathered at the Frenchman’s Bend Golf Course in Monroe. The 18-hole competition was filled with unique fundraising opportunities, including themed charity holes that challenged golfers to test their skills in unconventional ways, such as one-legged teeing off and a frisbee toss to gain an advantage on the green.
Caleb Seney, Executive Director of MedCamps of Louisiana, expressed deep gratitude for the contribution, stating, “Your generous donation brings hope and healing to children in need. Thank you for making a difference in their lives and brightening their futures with your kindness.”
MedCamps of Louisiana is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children with chronic illnesses and disabilities through specialised recreational and educational camping experiences. Clay Butler, Drax IT Operations Manager and golf tournament facilitator, shared his enthusiasm about the event’s success, noting that the annual tournament is not just a fundraiser but a time for vendors and colleagues to come together for a great cause. With this being the fourth charity tournament hosted by Drax, the company is already looking forward to continuing the tradition.
Drax actively supports local communities through initiatives that promote education, sustainable forestry management, and environmental stewardship, with a focus on making a difference in Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Alabama.
