Eating just one peanut could kill eight-year-old Aidan Dickie, who faces dealing with a nut allergy for the rest of his life.
Flying abroad is an “absolute nightmare”, says his mum, Helen Dickie, as she has to ensure there are no nuts on their flight. And at childrens’ parties Helen and her husband, Matthew, have to pre-warn parents about their son’s allergy, so he does not accidentally eat anything containing nuts.
She has spoken about allergy awareness at her children’s school and about how to recognise signs of anaphylaxis and how to get help.
