A HEATWAVE set to send temperatures soaring this week will leave parts of Britain hotter than southern Spain’s holiday sunspots but hay fever sufferers have been warned pollen levels will reach their highest in a decade.
Met Office forecaster Mark Foster said: “High pressure is going to dominate this week so we can expect very high levels of pollen and UV.
Pharmacist Francesca Brenca said hay fever sufferers should use antihistamines, eye drops and nose spray to reduce their hay fever and protect against asthma attacks.
She said: “If you effectively control your hay fever symptoms then you should notice a positive impact on your asthma as a result.”
