Sunshine and warm temperatures have tricked allergen-spewing trees into thinking spring has arrived making them pour out irritant particles, experts say. Air pollen levels are expected to rocket over the next three weeks, long before the usual start of the spring hay fever season. Two of the main culprits, alder and hazel have already started flowering with willow, birch and other nasties about to follow suit.
