Johannes’s leadership has been pivotal across many prominent brands, including PartnerGate, TPP Wholesale, Name Action, and naturally, CentralNic Reseller.

Q: What is one trend or development in the domain industry that excites you the most right now and why?

A: I think the biggest impact on the domain industry – as in all sectors of the economy – will be seen in the increasing use of AI. Already, this new technology is playing an ever-increasing part in our processes and demonstrating the ways in which big data can be used intelligently for the benefit of providers and customers.

Q: What’s something that sets CentralNic Reseller apart from other domain reselling services, in your opinion?

A: What sets CentralNic Reseller apart is our ability to cover the complete domain value chain. We also effectively blend advanced technologies, such as the use of AI, with long-standing and stable business processes. In today’s consolidating market environment, this is a key advantage for our growth-oriented customers.

Q: What do you think is the biggest challenge for domain resellers today and how does CentralNic Reseller help overcome this?

A: Over the last 20 years, the domain reseller market has transitioned from a strong growth market to a fiercely competitive one. Now, new market entrants need to rely on proven, future-oriented suppliers, like us, who can meet future challenges while offering competitive products.

Q: Can you share one interesting fact about the domain reselling industry that most people may not know?

A: Interestingly, many people aren’t aware that not only has the pharmaceutical industry but the domain industry as well, emerged as winners during the Covid pandemic, showing incredible resilience. This unexpected outcome suggests that there’s significant untapped potential in further digitising our working world.

Q: What advice would you give to someone starting their journey as a domain reseller?

A: I would suggest not trying to offer the cheapest product, but instead focusing on providing the one with the greatest customer value. That’s the key to lasting success!

Q: What is your favourite domain name and why?

A: My favourite is ‘teaminternet.com’. It encapsulates our shared passion for the internet and our commitment to partnering closely with our customers.

Q: What are one to two key traits or skills that you believe are essential to succeed in the domain reselling industry?

A: Domain reselling is essentially about business empowerment. So, in essence, it’s all about helping your customers grow by providing them with the best products. When they succeed, you do too!
