The UK Government is currently in the midst of a 10-week consultation on proposed changes to its data protection laws (part of the wider National Data Strategy), aiming to create “an ambitious, pro-growth and innovation-friendly data protection regime that underpins the trustworthy use of data.”
This consultation is the first step in delivering on the new strategy’s second mission to secure a “pro-growth and trusted data regime” that could see the enhanced levels of data sharing during the COVID-19 pandemic become the real “new normal.”
