Jonathan Morley-Kirk appointed interim FD at Jubilee Metals

Jonathan Morley-Kirk has joined Jubilee Metals Group as a board director and interim finance director, effective immediately. His role will remain interim until the company appoints a permanent chief financial officer. Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role on LinkedIn, Jonathan shared his excitement about contributing to Jubilee’s operations in South Africa and Zambia.

In the company’s statement, it was mentioned that Jonathan would later move into a non-executive role on the board. During this interim period, he will support the CEO and the board, focusing on shareholder engagement and advancing the establishment of decentralised executive boards within Zambia and South Africa. This approach aligns with the company’s goal of enhanced governance in these regions.

Jonathan is a qualified chartered accountant with over three decades of experience in senior finance roles across both public and private sectors. His expertise is primarily in natural resources within developing economies. Currently, he serves as a non-executive director for Clean Tech Lithium, Bluebird Mining Ventures, and Amala Foods, in addition to several investment companies and funds. His previous experience includes non-executive roles in listed companies such as Cardinal Resources and East Siberian.

CEO Leon Coetzer, commenting on Jonathan’s appointment, highlighted his extensive background in interim CFO roles across both private and public companies. Jonathan’s skills in managing complex, multi-jurisdiction projects, governance challenges, and investor relations make him a valuable asset for Jubilee. Coetzer also welcomed Reuel Khoza to the board, who joined following the departure of Jubilee’s former CFO, Neal Reynolds. Leon expressed confidence that Jonathan’s executive finance experience within fast-growing, listed resource companies will contribute significantly during his time as Jubilee’s interim finance director.

The addition of Jonathan and Reuel strengthens Jubilee Metals’ leadership team, bringing strategic expertise to support the company’s continued growth and governance initiatives across key markets.
