Hercules Site Services expands UK presence with new office and major contracts

Hercules Site Services, a labour supply firm based in Gloucestershire, has expanded its presence in the UK by opening a new office near Ipswich. This move was driven by the company’s involvement in the Sizewell C nuclear project in Suffolk. The new office in Saxmundham complements Hercules’ existing permanent offices in South Cerney and Nuneaton.

On July 25th, Hercules announced this expansion alongside a business update. The company highlighted its strong position to capitalise on the new government’s housing and infrastructure initiatives, aiming to provide local employment opportunities. During the first half of the financial year, Hercules’ civil projects division secured new contracts worth a total of £7.89 million. These contracts include projects for Thames Water and Anglian Water, encompassing 14 wastewater treatment and water management sites. Specifically, Thames Water awarded contracts valued at £5.56 million across nine sites, while Anglian Water’s contracts totalled £2.33 million across five sites.

Earlier in January, Hercules launched a Construction Academy in Nuneaton. The company recently received funding from North Warwickshire Borough Council to support upskilling programmes aimed at unemployed residents and those not in employment, education, or training (NEET). Additionally, Hercules has been appointed as a training provider for higher education institutions Gen2 and City and Guilds Training, tasked with delivering construction skills bootcamps across England.

Brusk Korkmaz, CEO of Hercules, emphasised the significance of recent developments. He mentioned that water regulator Ofwat’s approval of a £96 billion infrastructure spending programme will significantly benefit Hercules over the next five years and beyond. Korkmaz also noted that securing funding for the Construction Academy and becoming an approved training provider with City and Guilds and Gen2 underlines Hercules’ dedication to addressing the national skills shortage.

These expansions and contracts illustrate Hercules’ growth and commitment to contributing to major infrastructure projects and addressing the skills gap in the UK.
