Hercules Site Services’ first Women in Construction event

On Thursday, 13th June, Hercules Site Services hosted their inaugural Women in Construction Event. They invited women to their academy to explore various roles within the construction industry. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals eager to learn about the sector and even experienced driving plant machinery.

The event featured Mental Health Talks by Hercules Site Services’ Health and Safety Manager, Kassandra, and Menopause Talks by WEA’s Aliana Allen. Additionally, Claudette provided demonstrations on steel fixing, offering attendees a comprehensive look into different aspects of the industry.

Throughout the day, engaging conversations helped break down myths and barriers about women in construction. Hercules Site Services hopes these discussions encouraged more women to consider careers in this field.

A special thanks goes to City and Guilds for covering the catering, the Hercules Site Services team for their support, the NOCN group, and the local hospital for providing free health checks. Morrisons also deserves an honourable mention for supplying feminine products for the gift bags.

The event was a remarkable success, with a turnout that exceeded expectations. The positive feedback received has inspired Hercules Site Services to plan future events. Stay tuned for more updates!
