Alphawave Semi CTO presenting on Chiplets and Connectivity at AI Hardware Summit 2024

Alphawave Semi has announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Tony Chan Carusone, will be presenting at the 2024 AI Hardware & Edge AI Summit. This annual event, which is scheduled to take place in San Jose, California, from September 10th to 12th, gathers professionals from the deep tech and machine learning sectors. The summit will focus on advancements in AI infrastructure, edge AI applications, and MLOps.

Dr. Chan Carusone’s presentation, titled “Redefining Connectivity: Charting Next-Gen Pathways in Chiplet Interconnects,” will explore the role of AI in driving the development of chiplet ecosystems. He will discuss how these chiplets are not only enhancing AI capabilities but are also becoming integral in high-performance computing, 6G communications, and data centre networking. His speech will focus on the breakthroughs in optical interconnects that have allowed AI systems to continue progressing rapidly.

Other notable speakers at the event include Dan Rabinovitsj, Meta’s VP of Infrastructure, Mo Elshenawy, CTO of Cruise, Microsoft Azure’s CTO Mark Russinovich, and Andrew Ng, CEO of Landing AI and former Chief Scientist at Baidu.

Dr. Chan Carusone expressed excitement about presenting at the summit, highlighting how chiplets are paving the way for more energy-efficient system designs that balance cost, power, and performance without requiring complete hardware redesigns. He pointed out that this flexibility is crucial as the demand for custom AI hardware continues to grow.

Attendees at Alphawave’s booth (#9) will have the opportunity to view demonstrations of cutting-edge technology, including the HBM3 Sub-System, designed for AI workloads. This display will feature the HBM3e IO loopback eye diagram operating at 9.6 Gbps on 3nm silicon. Additionally, they will showcase the AresCORE, the first 3nm 24Gbps UCI integrated with TSMC CoWoS® Advanced Packaging, along with a live demo of D2D traffic at 24 Gbps per lane. Meanwhile, Samtec’s booth (#41) will feature a joint demo with Alphawave of the PipeCORE – AW 128G PAM4 Gen7 solution, utilising Samtec’s 128G PAM4 NovaRay technology, which will demonstrate transmission at 128 GT/s.

The summit will be held at the San Jose Signia by Hilton Hotel. Dr. Chan Carusone’s presentation is scheduled for September 11th at 3:25 p.m. PDT.

The 2024 AI Hardware & Edge AI Summit promises to be an exciting event for those looking to explore the latest developments in AI and connectivity technologies. Attendees will have the chance to learn from leading experts and witness cutting-edge demonstrations firsthand.
